Help wildlife threatened by devastating floods

Wildlife is being affected and habitats are being washed out in flood emergencies across New South Wales and southern Queensland.

Floods can be as devastating to wildlife as disasters like bushfires. Ground-dwelling animals like echidnas and wombats are in danger as burrows and low-lying areas become flooded. Platypus and other aquatic animals are facing pollutants being washed into rivers and being washed downstream. Birds are under threat as wild weather knocks nests out of trees. Species such as flying-foxes, which rely on nectar to feed, can also face starvation events as their food is washed from trees.

Your donation today will support volunteer wildlife carers on the ground with rescue equipment, medicines and food to give wildlife the best possible care and chances of recovery.

If you are a wildlife carer in need of support to care for wildlife in flooded areas, please contact us on 1800 333 737. We are offering urgent assistance.
